Jeffrey Brown, MD

Retina Consultants of South Carolina is pleased to introduce you to our newest associate, Dr. Jeffrey Brown. Dr. Brown earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, where he served as Chief Resident. Following his residency training, Dr. Brown completed his fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL (consistently ranked as the #1 eye hospital in the United States).
He brings his experience in the medical and surgical management of complex retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, secondary intraocular lenses, epiretinal membranes, full thickness macular holes, artery and vein occlusions, and retinal detachments. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Brown is dedicated to the advancement of novel treatments for retinal disease. His clinical research has been published in Ophthalmology Retina, Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Journal of Vitreoretinal Diseases, among other prestigious journals.
He attended Columbia University as an undergraduate where he studied Spanish literature and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Brown is also a graduate of the Juilliard School in piano, and he actively plays and performs when he is not spending time with his family.
He will be available for appointments in several locations including Lake City, Beaufort, Cigar Factory, Mt Pleasant and Ladson. We look forward to welcoming him to our family.
